Revitalising the Dorothy Holman Centre

The Topsham Community Association (TCA) is pleased to be working with the Topsham Adventure Centre (TAC), another local charity, on a project to revitalise one of our key community venues, the Dorothy Holman Centre.
The TAC has, with the support of the community, raised a significant sum of money towards their project to provide facilities in Topsham for the 1st Sea Scouts, and for the charity CEDA. The proposal is to use these funds, and more, to extend and improve the centre into a facility that everyone can use. This means a significant internal extension, modernisation and refurbishment, as well as external works that will encourage and enable people to spend more time at the recreation ground.
On February 16th we held an event in the studio at Matthews Hall where there was a chance to hear more about the project and see the plans for the revitalisation. You can review the main points and our response in the pdf below.
The planning application has been submitted and we are awaiting feedback from Exeter City Council.
Once the plans have been approved, a final fundraising effort will happen, led by TAC and focussing on large funding sources rather than further contributions from the community.
Below is the PDF of the current plans.
